Abandoned and alone, severely dehydrated and emaciated, sharing an unbreakable bond was all that kept them going!

ABANDONED AND ALONE IN A BACKYARD, BOTH MISSING A PAW, ALL THEY HAD WAS EACH OTHER, FORMING AN UNBREAKABLE BOND.
A short while ago, Marie Simard, founder of One cat at a time, received a call regarding two helpless kittens needing immediate help. Their mom was nowhere to be found, the kittens were severely dehydrated and had trouble eating.

“They were found outside in a backyard by a lady. She contacted me and sent me pictures of the kittens showing that they were both missing a paw,” said Marie.

At 1 1/2 weeks old, the two siblings were on the beginnings of a downward spiral, fighting multiple infections. Taken to a vet for a checkup he wasn’t sure if they would make it. Despite this dark outlook, Marie was determined to at least give them a fighting chance.

Sake, the male, was very frail, his sister Sakura (the tabby) not too great herself was slightly better off and snuggled up to him, offering him comfort. Right from the start, their special bond was clear.

They began antibiotics right away and were monitored around the clock. “Their foster family had to give them hydrotherapy. They made sure to keep the wounds clean at all times, and it paid off.”

With such great care, the felines began turning the corner and regained their appetite. What followed was a nice gain in both their weight and their strength.

“They had a follow-up appointment at the veterinary clinic recently, and their wounds seemed to be healing,” Marie said.

As well as missing a paw each, they also had extra toes, giving them opposable thumbs on their paws, making them polydactyls. Getting over the hump of fighting their infections both Sake and Sakura quickly began gaining more energy, turning into ruff and tumble rollie-pollies.

Both kittens had defied the odds stacked against them and found the road back to a full recovery with the help of all their support staff.

They were by and far, each other’s biggest support.

The best part of their recovery was watching them become more playful and seeing their tiny personalities emerging.

Only having three paws did not slow them down one bit.

They now have the rest of their lives to look forward to.

A journey they hope to continue together.

“Who said they can’t live on three legs? They are perfectly imperfect,” Marie added.

Read these characteristics which almost all cat lovers have in common:

INTROVERTED AND SENSITIVE
It’s the nature of cats that they are not friends with everybody, and the same trait can be seen in their owners too. Usually, they live alone and are happy with their independent lifestyle. They are introverts but are comfortable hanging around with other people. However, they would need some me-time to relax and recharge.

CAT LOVERS LEAN TO LEFT
It has been observed that people with liberal political leanings prefer cats over dogs. You might be a liberal dog lover or a conservative cat owner; if you’re a liberal, you love cats and vice versa.

CAT OWNERS ARE OPEN-MINDED
Five traits – conscientiousness, neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and openness are often seen in most cat lovers. As compared to dog owners, people who have cats as pets are more open and therefore, have greater artistic creativity.

ATTENTION SEEKERS
Just like their pets, cat lovers seek attention from people around them. They like to be the centre of all conversations. At times, cat owners rely on their pets for emotional support.

THEY RESPECT CATS MORE THAN ANYONE
Cat people respect cats more than humans, in general. The saddest sight for a cat lover is to see the animal on the streets without a home. Cat lovers are often seen making a special effort to rescue or rehabilitate homeless cats.

Despite his wobbly feet, he did his best to survive on his own on the lonely streets!

A KITTEN WITH A WOBBLY GAIT IS SO HAPPY TO BE OFF THE STREET. HE DOESN’T LET ANYTHING SLOW HIM DOWN.
Very unsteady on his feet, more than a little wobbly, he is doing his best to survive on his own when thankfully, he is found by a kind-hearted person and brought into Lange Foundation, a Los Angeles based rescue group, where staff very quickly fell in love with the rather strong-willed little fighter.

One staff member saw the ‘tiny kittens’ will to live and stepped up to the plate, offering him a home, in the process giving him the name Eddie.

“The shelter found that he was able to do everything normally, but had some stability issues, though he doesn’t think he is any different. “He has cerebellar hypoplasia, which causes him to fall over, and likely has hydrocephalus, which is why his head is larger than average.” Lange Foundation said.

Unaware he is any different, Eddie has the unbridled energy of any kitten his age, pouncing on anything that moves and scampering around his play area.

“His cerebellar hypoplasia does not shorten his life expectancy. It just causes him to be unsteady on his feet and wobbly.”

After surgery for a prolapsed rectum, Eddie was soon back on all four paws, wrestling with any kitten he came across.

“He loves to wrestle with cats and any dog who will let him. His instability can make using the litter box a challenge, but with a high-sided box, he is doing great.”

“He is a playful, funny, and sweet boy,” said Lange Foundation.

His wobbliness just makes an already cute kitten that much cuter.

“He topples over quite a bit, but it doesn’t deter him at all. He is confident, happy, very friendly, and fun.”

If he falls over he is back on his feet, immediately acting as though nothing has happened.

Soon the adventurous boy had explored every part of his new home, mapping out every corner, tumbling about with a group of eager feline followers.

The life of the party Eddie had put smiles on the faces of all his humans.

It quickly became clear this tiny boy was happiest at play.

Once struggling for survival on the streets this wobbly kitten as well and truly adjusted to his new VIP life.

Living every day to its absolute fullest.

Knowing he wouldn’t last much longer he took the only chance he had left!

A COUPLE ON HOLIDAY IN GREECE RECENTLY, TOURING IN THEIR MOTORHOME HAPPENED UPON A SURPRISE VISITOR WHILE ENJOYING SUNSET.
Derek and Claire were surprised by a tiny bundle of energy in the form of a tabby kitten, who came running toward them while they were enjoying a spectacular Greek sunset.

“We were in Evia parked at a beach about 10 days ago, and this little kitten just came over to us,” said Claire.

Apparently, the kitten had bounded up to an elderly man who was the only other person on the beach. He was begging for something to eat.

“The Greek gentleman said that he didn’t think the kitten belonged to anyone here as most of the properties were holiday homes and unoccupied at the present time.”

Derek and Claire asked around, but no one nearby was missing a kitten. Knowing he was on his own and would probably soon starve to death, there was no way they couldn’t turn their backs on him.

“I picked him up and he was asleep in my arms within minutes. He took to the camper right away,” said Claire.

The couple even stayed an extra day in case someone came back for the tiny feline, who by then had made himself right at home in their camper.

“We couldn’t leave him, he was so small and so hungry. So we decided to take him on our travels with us. We named him Vangelis, Greek for Archangel,” Claire added.

They soon found their new part-time kitty security guard was the purrfect travel companion. Unafraid of traffic, he quickly wrapped his paws around Dereck’s little finger, and wormed his way into Claire’s heart.

“He’s fast become a member of our family. He has a lovely nature but he’s still fiercely independent,” said Claire.

“He loves Derek and will happily sit on his lap whilst he’s working on the laptop.”

“He’s very affectionate and his personality is amazing.”

Soon their new travel companion was attracting attention wherever the couple went. A Greek lady came up to the couple offer cat treats and food. She came back the next day with eggs and oranges from her home.

“This is what we have encountered everywhere we travel in Greece. These small acts of kindness from one ‘stranger’ to another truly overwhelm me at times.”

In no time at all, Vangelis adapted to his new life on the road.

“He sits on Claire’s lap, looking out the windows, and after about 15 minutes he falls asleep,” Derek added.

He has easily transitioned from a life of just trying to survive to live with his new forever family.

No longer having to beg for food, all he wants to do now is give love, and show his appreciation to Derek and Claire for opening their hearts to him.

“He’ll be coming home with us when we return to the Isle Of Man in October,” Claire said.

“This little fella will live like a king for the rest of his life.”

Despite his highly engaging personality, no one, it would seem, wanted to take him home!

DESPITE BEING THE SWEETEST CAT YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO MEET, MAYHEM THE CAT IS STILL LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME.
Twice in less than six months, he has found himself back at Lollypop Farm, an animal welfare organization based in Fairport, New York. Now Mayhem, the cute ginger furball, waits again, hoping someone will take him home on a permanent basis.

“He first arrived at Lollypop Farm in early June after he was abandoned by his owner,” said a representative from Lollypop Farm.

“He went up for adoption, but sadly came back to the shelter when his new home just wasn’t the right fit.”

Trying to make his point regarding just how friendly he is, Mayhem likes to pass the time by waving at everyone who walks in and out of the shelter from the confines of his kennel.

That being the case, visitors find him irresistible, showing him with cuddles and snuggles, along with a plethora of soft toys.

If only someone would find him irresistible enough to take him home.

Due to his engaging personality, the shelter believes it’s only a matter of time before someone eventually takes him home for good.

“Mayhem has a lot of energy,” Lollypop Farm shared. “He may not be the right kind of cat for just anyone, but we know that there is a cat lover out there who is looking for a sassy cat just like he is.This handsome cat will surely find just the right home.”

They are left behind by a heartless owner, blind, alone, unwanted and unloved!

DURING THE COLD WINTER OF CHRISTMAS 2014, THREE BLIND FELINE SIBLINGS WERE FOUND IN A WAREHOUSE.
Catherine Magno heard about three neglected kittens and stepped in to rescue them after finding out they had lost their sight due to cat flu, along with the heartless behavior of their previous owner.

She gave the three siblings the names Blue, Meadow, and Little Willow. Blue it turns out had been previously adopted. Unfortunately, because he kept crying for his sisters he was returned, reunited with his sisters in foster care.

“I had zero experience having adopted my first ever rescue kitten just a couple of months prior.” – Catherine stated that was her very first experience rescuing those three beautiful kittens on the fateful night of 19 February 2015.

“But their story touched my heart so much that I couldn’t bear the thought of them put in a cage at vet facility indefinitely or even worse.”

Having an animal put to sleep is heartbreaking, something no one wants to see, and definitely not one the three siblings deserve. That being the case Catherine was determined to save their lives. Being something she was new to, she was unsure how to care for the trio, especially since they had all lost their beautiful eyes.

“My perception was that it’s going to not only be challenging but will also require a lot of adjustments on my part.”

“The only adjustment early on was keeping everything where it was but they are remarkably adaptive.” And as she wonderfully put it: “Blind pets see through their hearts.”

Being blind doesn’t mean their hearts are not precious, on the other hand, these three cats were lovable and smart. “They each have their own personalities. But equally affectionate and wanting constantly to be by your side.” – Catherine shared.

“The trio was found abandoned in a warehouse just before Christmas of 2014. They lost their sight due to a cat flu that was left untreated by their previous owner”

“Big brother Blue was fostered by their previous guardian’s neighbor but the kitten cried all night looking for his sisters, so he was given back. Their story touched my heart so much that I couldn’t bear the thought of them put in a cage at a vet facility”

“That evening when I took them back home I had to keep them enclosed… within my apartment. I was scared because the articles I read about caring for blind pets was overwhelming. My perception was that it’s going to… be challenging”

“Except for blind pets lacking vision, they are no different than other cats. They each have their own personalities. But equally affectionate and wanting constantly to be by your side”

“With proper introduction, they get along with other cats just as well as sighted cats”

“I wanted to bring awareness that they really are just like any other cats”

“And it’s true what they say about blind pets – they see through their hearts”

Dumped onto the streets by his owners, he is soon attacked by other strays!

PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO ABANDON A PET CAT CLEARLY DON’T HAVE THE ABILITY TO CONSIDER WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM AFTER THEY LEAVE!
These cats lack the essential instincts a stray cat learns from their mom. They are left, abandoned and confused, fighting for their lives. Unable to find regular sources of food, they are usually attacked by other stray cats and dogs.

One such cat, Randy had no choice but to confront the weather as well as other stray animals when his owners decided it would be a good idea to dump him. He was left outside during winter, with no shelter, doing his best to scrounge for food. Neighbors saw him the following summer, finding him wounded.

Randy had been assaulted by another animal, leaving him with an unrecognizable face. His wounds were infected, and one of his eyes was swelled shut. The neighbors alerted RappCats of his injury and volunteered to assist in his capture so that RappCats could care for him.

Randy was apprehended and transported to the vet to have his injuries examined and treated due to weariness and hunger. Randy’s injuries took months to heal, and he had to relearn to accept and trust others.

Randy was able to recuperate thanks to RappCats’ love, care, and attention. He was adopted into a loving family where he is properly cared for and cherished. Randy is a very happy cat right now.

Mom never came back, they are on their own, two helpless kittens, cuddling together, unable to fend for themselves!

ABANDONED BY MOM SOON AFTER BIRTH, TWO TINY KITTENS ARE SO VERY SMALL AND IN NEED OF IMMEDIATE CARE AND ATTENTION.
For some reason, mom had clearly not come back and both kittens needed critical care.

Both kittens were very small, however, unbelievably one kitten was half the size of his sibling. “Alexander was a normal baby who was a little underweight, but his brother Liam was a tiny preemie at only 40 grams. He was not fully developed.”

Patricia Lika, a Las Vegas-based fosterer, took in the pair and immediately placed them in an incubator to help regulate their body temperatures, and began around the clock feeding. Alexander, the larger kitten was constantly snuggling his smaller brother as if providing support.

Sadly despite everything Patricia did, Liam crossed over the rainbow bridge a few days later.

Alexander was left to fight on on his own and was soon making great progress. Patrica gave him some soft toys to snuggle with hand help him get over the loss of his brother.

Soon his eyes were open and he would soon be ready to begin tentatively checking out his new home.

“He was gaining weight as he should and just started growing into a healthy chubby boy,” said Patricia.

Whenever it’s feeding time he is always ready and waiting, loving a purrito style snuggle after his belly is filled.

“He really has a deep bond with me because I’m all he knows from birth. I love when he looks at me like I’m his mama — it melts my heart to pieces,” Patricia said.

By now he was becoming more and more confidant on all four paws, learning to walk, jump, and climb.

Though he’s still small for his age he can’t wait to play with the other kittens.

“He is curious and loves standing up in the incubator and watching the kittens in my room. He wants to join them but he’s still too small.”

“He is such a fluffy happy boy and only shows off his big boy meows when it’s feeding time,” Patricia added.

Now one month old he will soon be able to move into his very own playpen.

“Fostering these most vulnerable babies can be heartbreaking at times, but there are also times like these that bring you so much happiness,” Patricia said.

“Alexander is proof of that.”

Soon the little bundle of fluff will be out of his incubator mixing it with the other kittens as he fine-tunes his feline skills to their fullest, learning to cat.

Keep up with all the goings-on at Alexander and Patricia’s fosters here on Facebook and also here on Instagram.

Hearing what sound like cries of desperation she finds a plastic bag moving near the trash cans!

LAST SUMMER, WHILE OUT AND ABOUT, ONE OF CATHY MCCAUGHAN’S CO-WORKERS, WAS WALKING PAST SOME TRASH CANS WHEN SHE THOUGHT SHE HEARD SOME CRIES FOR HELP?
Going to investigate she was shocked to find two newborn kittens squirming inside a locked Zip-lock bag!

“One of my mother’s co-workers heard noises coming from near a kitchen trash bag and upon searching that squeaking bag of trash, found two newborn kittens inside a sealed Ziploc bag.”

“The driver called in his find and my mother told him to bring the kittens to the office while calling me to get the kittens help.”

“I took them in that day and they became a part of our family. They are wonderful,” Cathy McCaughan said.

“Their wet fur made them look like just-hatched chickens. I pulled the car over to check on them four times between the Oak Ridge trash collection office and my West Knoxville vet.

I truly believe that they could have easily gone to sleep and never awakened. They were so tiny and so weak.”

“The vet was less than hopeful. I took the kittens home and stared at them. I stared at them when I fed them formula with a syringe because they were too weak to suckle. I stared at them when they slept.”

“At night, I put the cat carrier containing the mouse-sized kittens and bottles of hot water covered with socks, on my bed. It was as close to co-sleeping as I could get.

“I didn’t sleep. For the first three days, I fed them, wiped bottoms with wet cotton balls, obsessed over their body temperatures and stared at them. Well, at night I did something else. I cried.”

“The kittens transitioned to bottles and started to resemble kittens. Kittens that fit in the palm of your hand.”

“The stronger the kittens got, the less anxious I became. I started calling the kittens by names as though it was suddenly safe to become emotionally invested in them. That was silly. I could not be more emotionally attached. I love these furballs. I love them for fighting so hard when all of the odds were against them.”

“I love that my old German Shepherd allows the kittens to run for about ten minutes before she herds the kittens back to a person as if to say, ‘Play time is over. Naptime.’ Yes, she means HER nap, but it is still a wonderful thing to watch.”

“I love the way they crawl to my face for kisses. I love the way my children nurture and care for the kittens. I love the tiny little thumps the kitten paws make when we put them on the wood floors for exercise.”

Locked into a zip-lock bag when they were so small and helpless, the transformation these kittens have made is incredible to see. Just look at them now!

Covered in wounds, cowering under a car, it was almost as if she was pleading for help!

SHE WAS OUT ONE DAY SHE THOUGHT SHE SAW A STRANGE-LOOKING CAT COWERING UNDER A CAR.
Nur Hamizah Had, from Malaysia, took a closer look, not quite believing her eyes, Nur saw a very sick cat peering back at her. How the cat was still alive Nur was not sure? Covered in wounds, and fungal infections, the sickly feline seemed to be pleading for help.

One of her legs was badly damaged, it seemed she might lose it. So being an animal lover, as well as a cat lover, Nur decided to help, and see if she could turn this cat’s life around before it was too late.

NUR MANAGED TO COAX THE STREET CAT INTO A BOX, IN THE PROCESS FINDING OUT HOW BAD THE SKINNY CAT SMELT.

Instead of being disgusted, as many people would, Nur took the cat to a vet who found her to be severely malnourished and dehydrated, weighing only 2kg.

Not knowing if the cat would survive Nur gave her the name Meimei, deciding if she made it it would be a sign she was meant to live. Also, a sign that Nur would take care of her for the rest of her life.

AFTER TAKING THE CAT TO THE VET, NUR WAS GIVEN A LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS TO GIVE MEIMEI THE BEST CHANCE AT A BETTER LIFE.
Good things take time, as they say, as was the case with Meimei. It took almost six months for her to get back to her old self. After 1 year, with Nur’s love, care, and kindness, Meimei is unrecognizable, wearing a coat of snow-white fur, a confident cat full of fluff! She also weighs 6kg now which is a good sign. Nur soon proved to be a loving kitty who likes to snuggle with people she knows. However, she is a bit afraid of strangers.

It took 5 months for Meimei to recover into the beautiful cat she is today.

Meimei’s snow-white fur grew back and her health is amazing!

Meimei is now a loved and spoiled house cat with all the care she needs.

According to the clip’s brief description on YouTube, the street singer wasn’t having any luck getting people to stop and listen to him sing, so he was feeling pretty down for not having an audience to share his music with. Then is when the cats starting gathering around him and paying attention to his art.

And soon, there were no less than 4 kittens that were absolutely captivated by the beautiful music the man managed to create using a guitar and his incredible voice. The one-of-a-kind scene was captured on a street in Malaysia, but thanks to the power of social media and the Internet, it has now reached people from all over the world.

In case you’re not one of the five million people who already watched this clip or if you simply want to watch it again, all you have to do is hit that play button. Enjoy!

Cat lost for months is nowhere to be found, but then she hears her little girl’s voice

This is the heartwarming moment a little girl is reunited with her missing cat. For over two months, the cat was nowhere to be found, but her human friend never stopped searching for her, and never gave up. Fortunately, her efforts paid off and she got the chance to hold her beloved furry friend into her arms, again. The emotional reunion was caught on camera by the girl’s dad!

Adventurer, just like any other cat, Tita loved to wander through the naighborhood. However, she never went too far, and she always got back in time, until one evening, when she disappeared. Her family was devastated, but the most affected – by far – was Tita’s human sister, who couldn’t stop crying. Anyway, they never lost their hope, and they kept searching the missing cat for days.

But days turned into weeks, and weeks months, and there was still no sign of Tita. The thought of never seeing her beloved cat again, was too much for the little girl, who was desperate. But then fate smiled to her, when a neighbor told the girl’s family their beloved furry friend was spotted at a school in the neighborhood.

Within minutes, the girl’s dad drove over there. But the school’s door were closed and they couldn’t see Tita anywhere. It’s when the girl started to call Tita by her name, and she just showed up and run straight into her arms.

“A family lost their kitten “Tita” two months ago, it turned out that they saw her at a school and ran to look for her,” the video caption reads. “This was the kitten’s reaction to hearing the voice of her little human sister…Never lose hope!”

Watch the tearfull reunion here!

The Family Is So Determined To Save The Stray Cat That They Built Him His Own Home

Gerrie and Loki have a large catio in which they like playing and relaxing while watching the world go by outside. A new cat came up to the catio one day to say hi. The cats’ parents assumed he was a neighbor’s cat and didn’t think much of it until he reappeared and a neighbor noted that he was a stray who had lived in the neighborhood for years.

They gave him the name Ziggy and began courting him as soon as they learned of it.

Ziggy began to visit twice a day for food, but was first terrified of being touched. His new pals wanted to make him feel comfortable whenever he came around, so they decided to construct him his own tiny house. They reasoned that if he remained aloof as the winter months came, he would have a warm place to stay, so they began feeding him in there to acclimate him.

Ziggy seemed to enjoy the house and was gradually warming up to the couple, but it was evident that he still had a long way to go.

Renee, the cats’ mother (who requested that her last name not be used) told The Dodo, “After a few weeks of feeding, I could finally touch him as he was eating.” “However, as soon as he finished his meal, he refused to be touched.”

The couple was still debating what to do about Ziggy — whether to keep feeding him outside until he was more comfortable or attempt to bring him inside — when they discovered him curled up in his small house, wounded and in need of assistance. They raced him to the vet, where he had the operation he required, and then drove him home.

“We kept him in a separate room for a few days after he had surgery,” Renee explained. “After a few days, we reintroduced him to Gerrie and Loki. We chose to keep Ziggy with us since they still got along.”

Ziggy had his own tiny outdoor house made by the couple so he could feel protected, but it was their home where he actually found protection and comfort in the form of a brand-new permanent family.

Ziggy is now entirely established in his new home and loving life, despite the fact that it took some time. He seemed to have concluded that his new parents weren’t that terrifying after all after they helped him recuperate and took such wonderful care of him. His new favorite pastimes include stretching out close to the window and resting near the warm dishwasher. He still enjoys spending time outside with his new siblings, but now he has to share the great, huge catio with Gerrie and Loki instead of having his own small abode.

When A Homeless Cat Sees Her Pups At The Shelter, She Meows Happily

In early April, a homeless cat was saved from being mauled by other animals and sent to the Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, Inc Shelter.

The local staff realized that the cat was not alone because she was nursing on the day of the rescue, but they were unable to locate her offspring, so they advised nearby citizens to contact the shelter if they heard or saw the kittens.

That same week, neighbors heard five little kittens meowing near a mobile home; one of the shelter volunteers, Mindy Brocato, was in charge of finding the kittens and transporting them to the shelter, where they were reunited with their heartbroken mother, whom they named Toodles.

When Toodles heard the meows, she instantly sat up and looked about, trying to figure out where they were coming from.

She sniffed and meowed as she licked one of the kittens who had been placed on her bed to calm him.

The 5 kittens meowed and attempted to snuggle up to their mother’s side, and the beautiful mother lay down ready to feed them to quiet their sobbing, and the kittens calmed down to eat their supper as Toodles kept a close eye on them.

But not everything was well for this feline family; later that night, the shelter got a call reporting the discovery of a kitten in the same area.

Staff at the shelter stated:

“Under the same mobile home where the first five kittens were discovered sobbing for their mother, a sixth kitten was discovered crying for its mother.”

When the sixth kitten arrived at the shelter, it was reunited with the rest of the litter and went straight to its mother for nourishment.

The team went on to say:

“When this second baby arrived, Toodles appeared much more calm, and Toodles and her kids are prospering, owing in no little part to the kind and skilled foster home.”

Toodles isn’t bothered if she needs help feeding her kids. The kittens struggled to acquire weight and required more feeding.

They’ve grown in size and become more alert. “The foster home and Toodles are working together to raise these strong and joyful children.”

Kittens who are a few months old, have grown up, and appear to be in good health are almost ready to find a permanent home.

The shelter had this to say:

“The shelter’s first application was for Toodles and Percy, the sixth kitten. It’s especially heartwarming to have the mother cat chosen for the first time, as the mother cat is frequently the last to find a permanent home.”

Rescue Kitty With Four Ears And One Eye Finds His Forever Home And Escapes Misery

Meet Frankie, a Frankenkitten who was born with four ears under a suburban house where he and his sister were discovered.

Georgi Anderson, Frankie’s human, recounts, “He was born beneath a suburban home to a wild mother.” “He was discovered with one live sister, although there may have been more who died.”

Frankie and his sibling were taken in by the homeowners for many weeks to socialize and fatten them up before being taken to the shelter for medical care and rehoming.”

Of course, people notice his four ears first, but he also has a big overbite that gives his face an angular aspect. He had two eyes when he originally came to the animal shelter, but one of them had burst and had to be removed.

Frankie also has issues with his rear legs, as his knees do not sit properly, causing him to walk splay-legged as his knees slide in and out of position.

“His bottom canines were piercing the roof of his mouth due to his overbite. He also needs surgery on his knees to fix the joints, but I’m saving up for that since it’s pretty costly,” Georgi explained.

“He also had dental treatment done to reduce the height of his lower canines to a few millimeters over the gum line.”

“The eye removal saved his life since the infection would have progressed to the point where he would have died.”

“I was working at the animal shelter when Frankie arrived. I was invited to foster him for a week while he recovered from his eye removal because I was also a foster caregiver.”

“It wasn’t so much his distinct appearance that drew me in as it was his charming personality, the way he investigated his environment and sought solace from me. I went to see him before his treatment and was immediately impressed by how kind he was.”

“I felt he was unique in a manner I couldn’t fully articulate within a few hours of having him home in recovery.”

“His physical state has an influence on his day-to-day activities. The little front ears have a minor effect on his directional hearing since they function almost like earmuffs to his regular ears. He’s adapted well to having only one eye, although his night vision isn’t as excellent as my other cats’. His legs cause him to walk splay-legged, but they don’t hurt him or limit his ability to play or leap.”

“The largest physical reason is definitely his mouth; he has trouble eating wet food because he can’t get a firm grip on it.” He’s on a dry-food-only diet and has learned to pick up kibble with his tongue and bring it into his mouth that way rather than putting it in his mouth.
