Young Formerly Cold Stunned Rescue Turtle Released into Warm Ocean Waters Following Recovery

According to SeaWorld Rescue, the juvenile loggerhead turtle was rescued in February. Rescuers found the endangered sea turtle emaciated, lethargic, and suffering from severe pneumonia. The reptile likely ended up this way after being cold-stunned, a type of hypothermia that can develop in sea turtles caught in ocean water that rapidly declines in temperature. Turtles are often left cold-stunned and ill after a sudden cold snap or unseasonably cold weather.

SeaWorld Rescue and Turtles Fly Too, a nonprofit that helps stranded turtles get to rehab facilities, partnered together to rehabilitate Ruth. After months of dedicated care, the sea turtle recovered from her health issues and recently got the all-clear to return to ocean waters.

Rescued Tigers Enjoy Their First Months at Black Beauty Ranch

Recently, two tigers, Elsa and India, found sanctuary at the Humane Society’s Black Beauty Ranch, founded in 1979 in Murchison, Texas. There, tigers and almost a thousand other animals have permanent, safe homes at one of the largest US sanctuaries. Over 40 species at the ranch are victims of the wildlife pet trade.

Unfortunately, wild animals like tigers are still available in some states with no uniform regulation. However, the Humane Society hopes public support for the Big Cat Public Safety Act will soon change all that. So far, it has passed the House with bipartisan support and awaits passage by the US Senate after being reintroduced.

Officials called the first tiger Elsa after the protagonist from the cartoon film Frozen. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the 60-pound tiger was found imprisoned in a San Antonio home’s backyard in exceedingly exceptionally frigid conditions when he was six months old. Someone had kept her as a “pet” and she was wearing a dog harness.

Thankfully, Elsa would be able to live a life more like to that of a wild tiger at the Black Beauty Ranch.

“Elsa is a rambunctious young wild animal and appears to be playful and active. Sadly, she spent her first few months of life as someone’s pet,” stated Noelle Almrud, senior director of Black Beauty.

“The dog harness she was wearing is a harsh reminder of the unnatural life wild animals are forced to endure in captivity. Elsa has a raw area on her forehead from rubbing on her cage from stress and fur missing where the harness once was. She was on an inappropriate diet that would have caused severe health damage, but luckily, we got her early enough and will be able to remedy that. We expect her to quickly acclimate to her large, natural habitat and start behaving more like a tiger than a pet. We will provide everything she needs to have all of her physical and emotional needs met and give her the fairytale ending she deserves.”

After her recovery, Elsa would enjoy a habitat alongside Loki; a tiger saved in 2019. Sadly, someone locked the enormous Loki in a small cage in an abandoned Houston home.

Elsa reached 100 pounds within months after her arrival, and on October 21, 2021, she celebrated her one birthday at Black Beauty Ranch with goodies.

She was then ready to go to a large enclosure complete with a pool, waterfall, hammock, trees, and enrichment toys.

“She appeared pleased with herself after she worked it out.” She enjoys rolling about in the grass, swimming, and splashing around in the water with her favorite enrichment ball. Her feisty, inquisitive, and clever attitude has emerged as she has become more confident. “Her days as a pet on a leash are long gone, and she will never have to worry about anything again,” Almrud told PEOPLE.

Just three months after Elsa arrived at Black Beauty Ranch, another tiger named India found refuge there. This time, the tiger was 9-months-old and running loose in a Houston neighborhood for nearly a week, a situation that could easily have ended in tragedy. The tiger was wearing a collar and caught on video by neighbors. Then, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy encountered India before someone put him in a vehicle and drove away.

Soon afterward, India’s “owners” surrendered the tiger to authorities, and nobody was harmed.

In Houston, it’s illegal to own a tiger but still legal in the surrounding county under strict rules and guidelines. According to NBC, those rules include holding $100,000 of insurance and keeping the tiger at least 1,000 feet from homes, schools, or child facilities.

Once again, India and the people around him were extremely fortunate because he arrived at Black Beauty Ranch without further incident. There, he would enjoy a huge enclosure similar to Elsa, with a pool and wooded area for himself. After some time, the tigers can revert to more of their wild behaviors.

Hopefully soon, the Big Cat Public Safety Act will pass the Senate so that tigers like Elsa, India, and Loki won’t require rescue in the first place. However, it’s wonderful to see that caring people at Black Beauty Ranch have given them forever homes where they can live more like tigers and not as dangerous mistreated pets.

In a follow-up TikTok, Jones continues to be unboth-ered by the woman ba!gi!g on his window.

The woman attempts to solicit Jones’ attention in the video by approaching the window, he-ckl-ing the federal employee for her mail.

“Hello? Hello? Can I get my mail, you’ve been sitting here for 30 minutes?” she beg-ged. She then k*ocks one last time before announcing, “I’m calling your supervisor.” “This br*ak is a sure thing,” Jones wrote in the caption of part two.

The original video now has over 15 million views and even garnered the attention of artist Miguel who commented, “Love.”

One user wrote in the comments, “the only blue lives that matter hope you enjoyed your lunch king.” As a conclusion to the “Karen” fia!co with Jones, he posted a clip of him and the woman hugging, leading some users to believe the initial i!cident may have been stag-ed.

80 Years Old Woman Graduated With Bachelor’s Degree From Alabama University

It’s never too late to chase your dreams! Donzella Washington just fulfilled her lifelong goal of earning her bachelor’s degree, graduating from Alabama A&M University at 80-years-old, Rocket City Now reports. Washington is inspiring people around the world with her story of re!ilience and triumph. Following the days of her husband, she moved to Fultondale, Alabama to be with her daughter.

After taking some time to fo*us on her goals, she decided that she was going to finish college, so she began pursuing a degree in social work.

“When I began this journey it was just because I wanted to go back to school, it was something I wanted to accomplish. So at this moment it’s just overwhelming you know, the attention,” Washington said.

But the attention is well deserved. Washington is living proof that you can accomplish your dreams at any age. The 80-years-young woman graduated magna cum laude from A&M and hopes that her story will continue to inspire others for years to come.

Washington sp*ke to the press saying, “I want to inspire young people and even a*ul!s, to let them know that it’s never too late. Because I’m 80, but I don’t know what 80 really feels like. You have a dream, please finish that dream. You can do it. You just have to believe in yourself.”

Her daughter Kimberly Washington said, “She is such a great example of commit- ment and strength and perseverance and dedication and compassion and pass-ion, she exhibits all that. I’m just glad that she’s reached her goal and has let me experience this time with her.”

The A&M scholar has no plans of stopping anytime soon. She hopes to use her new degree to volunteer at var*us places including nursing homes and helping with young people. Washington and her late husband fo-st-ered about 30 children over the course of their union and she hopes to continue that work in addition to pursuing graduate degrees.

“Learning is just really fun. I feel like with the help of God who has brought me this far, that I will be able to accomplish and obtain my master’s degree,” Washington said.

The family immediately tri-ed to figure out what they could do to help pay for the expensive treatment to help make sure their dog was happy and healthy again and were sho*ked by Bryson’s selflessness. The sweet young boy did whatever he could to help his si*k dog. His adorable act of kindn-ess definitely did not go unnoticed, as Bryson later received a nice gift for all of his hard work and dedication to help his cute puppy get the medical treatment he needed.

WCYB reported that the price to care for the virus known as parvo is quite high at a hefty bill of $700, but this did not deter Bryson from making sure his puppy was going to get the care he needed. Woodruff was amazed at the lengths her son went to help care for the puppy. “While I’m in school, I get a text message with a picture of him and a sign on the side of the road selling Pokemon cards,” she explained. “I know everybody likes Pokemon cards so I just decided to sell them,” Bryson said. His mother, Woodruff, posted the picture online to help spread the word and created a GoFundMe page.

The donations quickly exceeded the family’s expectations, reaching a total of $1,900 — more than enough to help pay for Bruce’s treatment. “I was so happy because I really wanted to get him back,” the young boy said. WCYB reported that Bruce has already under-gone his first round of treatment but is currently still receiving treatments as he works on getting better. The family is keeping the remaining money to help pay for any future medical problems for their dog and other dogs in the comm-unity.

Bryson’s good deeds definitely did not go unnoticed. On May 21, 2021, WSLS-10 reported that the boy had received some rare Pokemon cards that aren’t usually sold in stores. They were sent to him by Pokemon employees who wanted to help him replace the cards he might have sold to help pay for his dog’s treatment.
