Shelter Dog Kept Reaching Her Paw Out For Attention Until She Found The Best Mom

Looking for attention and love Leila kept reaching her paw out to everyone that approached her kennel. Leila, a six-year-old dog was left in a shelter in Miami by her family. When Katy Hinkley Cassells saw her, she immediately started to arrange for her adoption through the Helping Paws 22 rescue group in Florida. Leila found her forever home and now lives in Wellington, Florida with the Cassells. Leila was a very sweet dog even when she was not feeling well. Her skin is covered with sores and old scars. Her eyes need surgery, her new veterinarian mentioned. Once the surgery is done, she will be able to see better.

Cassells explains that she likes to take the dogs that are sick. “She is not the first who’s been abused and had a tough life”, she added. The veterinarian believes that Leila’s scars and wounds may have been caused by fire. She is getting medical attention. As part of Leila’s care, she is taking antibiotics and medicated baths. She will hopefully feel better soon.

Adopted Cat Who Grew Up In A Shelter Makes His Very First Friend – A Horse

Morris the cat used to live in a shelter until he was about nine-month-old when was adopted by Jennifer Boyle and brought into his forever home. Morris was scared at first, but soon after he met Champy the horse, Morris started to trust a little bit more his surroundings. They met one morning outside of Jennifer’s house.

“I let Morris onto my front verandah after he’d had a few days to settle in and Champy was immediately interested in him, coming up to say hello and then persisted in wanting to groom Morris,” Jennifer explains.

Camel, cow and donkey found wandering in Kansas

This story is definitely meant to warm our hearts on this cold month. Earlier this week, the Goddard Police Department in Kansas received several calls about a camel, a cow and a donkey wandering together on the streets of the city. And what initially seemed to be like a corny joke, or more like a Disney tale, turned out to be as real as breathing for the authorities when they got there.  The unlikely trio turned a lot of heads, but they didn’t seemed to be bothered at all!

“Does anyone know the owners of these three friends traveling together (towards a Northern star) just East of Goddard?” the police department wrote in a Facebook post. “If we can not locate the owner, we may be halfway towards a live nativity this Christmas season.”

According to officer Aja Fulcher, the trio was found outside the city of Goddard, in a suburb area of Wichita. The cops initially thought the animals belonged to the Tanganyika Wildlife Park, a local zoo. However, they proved they were wrong, so the trio was taken to a local shelter, but not before to take a photo of them. And what little the officers know, was the snap went viral on social media with lots of people reacting to the hilarious post.

Lost dog strolls into police station to report himself missing

While we’re used with dogs to do all sort of unexpected (and why not hilarious) things, this pup had taken internet by storm with his adventure!

Officers at the Odessa Police Department in Texas were taken by surprise when a doggie passed through the front doors. It was early in the morning and everyone thought it might be a dream or something, but it was just as real as breathing. And while all the cops have been left open-mouthed, the friendly pup approached one of the officers in the chilliest way possible.

Sergeant Rusty Martin was the officer who received the calmly doggie. And according to him, the unexpected visitor did not seem in any way distressed about the situation. So for the police officers there was nothing left, but to play with him. “We were all excited to have him in the building,” sergeant Martin told The Dodo. “We had a tennis ball and threw it in the lobby for a bit. Everyone loved on him.”

But, despite his good spirit and friendly nature, no one strolls into a police station for fun, so the officers wanted to find out the pup’s identity. And since he was wearing a collar, they thought it’s going to be an easy mission. But surprise…the ID tag was missing. It’s when they reached the animal control to come for the microchip checking.

Before the animal control to come, the lovely German Shepherd decided enough is enough, so he chickened out.”He ran out just as quick as he came in,” the sergeant wrote in a Facebook post.
The other day, sergeant Rusty Martin was happy to find the canine visitor was fine and healthy and more important reunited with his human dad. Even though, he could not hide his enthusiasm about the unexpected visit and he said the dog, who’s named Chico is welcomed back anytime.

“The owner responded the next day [to say that] it was his dog and he had returned home,” the sergeant wrote. “He lives about a mile from the station. He was given lots of love and attention[at the police station]. We were relieved to learn he safely returned to his owner. Chico is welcome back anytime.”

Baby chimp finds comfort in a plush monkey after his mother rejected him

Life was far from easy for this tiny chimp, after his mother rejected him, shortly after birth. But even forced to survive on his own, the helpless creature never gave up. He found comfort in a plushie monkey, beat the odds and warmed everyone’s heart with his inspiring story!

Djibril – an adorable baby chimp – was born at a zoo in the city of Malaga, Southern Spain. But unfortunately, his mother refused to look after him and eventually abandoned him, shortly after he was born. A sad thing, but who can blame her as she was rescued from a circus, where she had been through a lot. Kept in captivity almost her entire life, Kika hasn’t developed any maternal instincts, so wasn’t able to take care of her own baby.

Happily for the baby chimp, life smiled back to him when he expected the less, after he was taken at the BIOPARK – an animal park in Valencia!

Shortly after he arrived here, Djibril offered a truly heart-warming moment, after he was spotted cuddling with a plush monkey. The stuffed toy was given to him by the staff at the park, to make him feel comfortable.

But, after some accommodation time, the staff introduced Djibril to one of the females, Malin, but she showed no interest in him. But things have changed when he met Eva, who immediately showed her love and affection to Djibril, and adopted him as her own baby.

Now, Djibril is thriving with his new family and he looks happier than ever. More, the center believes he can play a crucial role in saving the Western Chimpanzee subspecies.

Caring man walks with a trolley around Mexico to save stray dogs

While most of us are so indifferent when it comes to help innocent animals, some are capable to do impossible things for the seeks of the four-legged ones. It’s the case of Edgardo Perros, a humble man from Mexico, and his huge heart.

In 2013, the kind-hearted man started his mission, born out of his compassion, empathy and kindness for the stray dogs. Back then, Edgardo decided to help out the homeless dogs all over the country. So he took a trolley and begin his 9,500 miles journey around Mexico.

“It is never too late for us to do something good, no matter what mistakes we have made in the past,” Edgardo told Quinta Fuerza. “Even if there is no food or medicine, I try to rehabilitate them with love and affection and put them up for adoption.”

So far, Edgardo “Perros” Zuniga has managed to help around 500 dogs and he’s only 900 miles away from achieving his goal. Over the last six years, this man walked more than 8,500 miles pushing a trolley full of food and medicines for dogs. He admits sometimes he took some daily jobs to feed himself and his furry friends, but he said he also relied on the kindness of people he met.

The 49-year-old says he begin this journey “to awaken people’s consciousness.” According to him, it’s not the dog’s fault they live on the streets, but their owners’

It is the person that is doing it,” Edgar said. “I work with the strength of the animal, what I do, I do out of love for them, not out of pity.
