In case you didn’t hear, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton released a new song together, along with a music video!

If you are a country fan, it was probably a pretty good day for you! Dolly is clearly one of the best country legends of all time:
In 1999, Parton was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She has composed over 3,000 songs, including “I Will Always Love You” (a two-time U.S. country chart-topper, as well as an international pop hit for Whitney Houston), “Jolene”, “Coat of Many Colors”, and “9to5”. She is also in a select group to have received at least one nomination from the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Tony Awards, and Emmy Awards.

What a resume! Still, her partner that she released a song with isn’t anyone to snuff at either.

Reba has written songs like “Can’t Even Get the Blues” and was the star of the famous show Reba!

Coming together, they duetted the song “Does He Love You”.

The song isn’t technically new, but for many, it will be.

It was originally written by Reba and her and Dolly decided to redo it for the “Revived Remixed Revisited: A reimagined collection of Reba’s most iconic songs” album.

Let’s take a quick look at the music video together!

Their music video for the song premiered on October 9th and it’s really nice.

The video starts off with a gentle piano, but what can you expect?

It’s a country love ballad! With her glass of whiskey and white suit, Reba starts singing.

Dolly comes in a bit later as the two sing back and forth to each other.

The entire song feels like a back and forth between two women talking about their lover who seems to be interested in both of them.

The man they are talking about seems to spend his nights with Dolly and his days with Reba!

The song is a ballad but it’s more like a conversation.

With the area cuts, the entire thing certainly has an old-school feel.

The blurred layering definitely brings back old and nostalgic memories!

As they get to the pinnacle of the song, they finally walk onto the stage in the “bar” they are talking at and have it out.

We even get a resolution about the “man” they are both singing about!

As the music video ends, they both start talking and breaking the fourth wall. Dolly makes the joke that she doesn’t, in fact, want the man who’s been sneaking around on her.

Reba clarifies that she doesn’t want him either!
They resolve to find themselves their very own “new” man. If that song they just sang tells us anything, he didn’t deserve them anyway!!
