Coworkers Buy Car For Teen UPS Employee Who Walked 10 Miles To-And-From Work Every Day – Video

Scroll down to see the beautiful reaction when a 19-years-old UPS employee received a brand new car from his co-workers. For more than a year, every day Derrick Taylor used to wake up before sunrise just to walk five miles to his 4 a.m. shift at UPS, work to support his ailing mom.

Derrick’s co-employees at UPS center in Oxford Alabama were so impressed by his dedication and hard work that they decided to help him with a life-changing gift that left Derrick in tears. Derrick’s co-employees raised $1,100 to buy him a second-hand Jeep Cherokee that will make sure he no longer walks for 10 miles a day. On February 22, J.D. Ward gifted the car to Derrick where every worker was present.

Ward stated in the video: “This is a hard-working young man, he makes me emotional. This young man wants to work so desperately, he walks to work from way out of town.” “The group here, we’ve got some good news for you. Everybody came together and you don’t have to walk anymore. You’ve got your own ride.”

Derrick has been working at the UPS center for more than a year, loading trucks for $11.90 an hour to support his family, however, he wasn’t able to afford his own car. In the same video, Derrick said, “If I could, I would go around and thank everybody one by one. ” He added, “this is really going to change a lot for me, so thank you again.”
