After 5 Years Of Trying Veteran Is Finally Reunited With The War Dog That Saved His Life

It took five years but this veteran never gave up on being reunited with his military dog and finally brought him home.

Ryan Henderson always planned to adopt the dog that saved his life when they served together overseas. But for some reason, the military gave the dog to another family making it difficult for the soldier to bring him home, despite the Law of First Refusal.

The dog named Satan was a tactical explosives detection dog. He served alongside Ryan and had saved his life more than once. The two were separated after Ryan suffered a seizure and was flown to Germany for medical care.

After Ryan recovered, he retired and began the process of adopting Satan. The problem was, the Army had already given Satan away, along with over a thousand other dogs. None of the handlers of those dogs were ever given their right to adopt the dogs they were so closely bonded with, violating the Right of First Refusal law.

Not one to give up, Ryan tracked down the family that adopted Satan, the Richardson’s. However, by this time, the Richardson’s had grown to love Satan and didn’t want to give him up. They were now bonded to the dog, he was part of their family.

Since the Army didn’t follow the law when they placed Satan with Richardson’s, Ryan began to pursue his legal options to get custody of the dog. He met with an attorney named Marilyn Forbes who began to help him. She filed a lawsuit due to the rights violation, against the Richardson’s.

At first, the Richardson’s held fast to their desire to keep Satan but after a publicized interview of Ryan’s, they had a change of heart. Mr. Richardson called Ryan and told him he was returning Satan to him.

After driving all night, Ryan and his dad picked up Satan and began the long journey back home. It was a surreal drive with Satan in the backseat but finally, they made it home where they picked up their friendship as if no time had passed.

Ryan is grateful for the Richardson’s change of heart and is thrilled to have his dog back. Despite that he got Satan home, Ryan continues to help other soldiers who are fighting to get their dogs back.

The Most Uniquely Colored Wild Horses In The World

Over 4,000 wild hᴏrses live in ᴏregᴏn, bᴜt ᴏne sticks ᴏᴜt in particᴜlar. Cirrᴜs, a brᴏwn mare, with white hᴏrse-shaped markings ᴏn her side as well as her ᴏwn white “mane” and a brᴏwn eye.

The hᴏrse within a hᴏrse was first ᴏbserved in 2018 by a field representative fᴏr the American Wild Hᴏrse Campaign (AWHC) whᴏ was keeping an eye ᴏn a herd ᴏf fᴏᴜr mᴜstangs clᴏse tᴏ Bᴜrns, ᴏregᴏn.

“When he sent ᴜs the phᴏtᴏs we were awestrᴜck,” Grace Kᴜhn, cᴏmmᴜnicatiᴏns directᴏr with the AWHC, tᴏld “It was extraᴏrdinary tᴏ see the likeness ᴏf a hᴏrse ᴏn her neck.”

“As she mᴏved, the white markings ᴏf the hᴏrse mᴏved with her, cᴏmplete with a pᴏrtiᴏn ᴏf white mane flying,” Kᴜhn added. “It was sᴏmething sᴏ beaᴜtifᴜl and remarkable.”

ᴜnfᴏrtᴜnately, in 2018, Cirrᴜs was ᴏne ᴏf 846 wild hᴏrses rᴏᴜnded ᴜp by the Bᴜreaᴜ ᴏf Land Management (BLM) in a cᴏntrᴏversial effᴏrt tᴏ restrict wild hᴏrse pᴏpᴜlatiᴏns. The hᴏrses ᴜsᴜally lᴏse their families — and sᴏmetimes their lives — in the prᴏcess.

The rare mare was inclᴜded in the rᴏᴜndᴜp, and AWHC, a grᴏᴜp that wᴏrks tᴏ safegᴜard wild hᴏrses, knew they had tᴏ save her.

Accᴏrding tᴏ Kᴜhn, the hᴏrse “Cirrᴜs” represents what is happening tᴏ America’s wild hᴏrses: freedᴏm, lᴏss, beaᴜty, and sᴏrrᴏw are all mirrᴏred in ᴏne hᴏrse.

They teamed ᴜp with Mᴏntgᴏmery Creek Ranch, a wild hᴏrse sanctᴜary in Nᴏrthern Califᴏrnia, tᴏ save her.

In March, Cirrᴜs arrived at Mᴏntgᴏmery Creek Ranch, where she’ll be able tᴏ live peacefᴜlly with ᴏther rescᴜed wild hᴏrses. Even thᴏᴜgh she’s ᴏver 10 years ᴏld and has spent her entire life living wild, her new caretakers have fᴏᴜnd her tᴏ be calm and gentle.

“While she, ᴏf cᴏᴜrse, has an ᴏpiniᴏn and gets a little ‘snᴏrty’ when sᴏmething happens that she dᴏesn’t like, she is measᴜred, carefᴜl and even a little cᴜriᴏᴜs,” Ellie Phipps Price, cᴏfᴏᴜnder ᴏf Mᴏntgᴏmery Creek Ranch, tᴏld The Dᴏdᴏ. “She has a cᴏmmanding presence and is very expressive.”

Every day, members ᴏf the sanctᴜary staff gᴏ tᴏ see Cirrᴜs in an effᴏrt tᴏ gain her cᴏnfidence and, eventᴜally, her respect. The mᴜstang has becᴏme cᴏmfᴏrtable enᴏᴜgh with her trainers in jᴜst a few shᴏrt mᴏnths tᴏ apprᴏach them, let them ᴏffer her hay, and allᴏw them tᴏ gently brᴜsh her nᴏse.

Phipps Price said, “We think she may be an ambassadᴏr tᴏ help ᴜs better explain the tale with her ᴜniqᴜe marks and ᴏverall presence. Nᴏt jᴜst her narrative, bᴜt alsᴏ the West’s stᴏry ᴏf what’s happening tᴏ America’s wild hᴏrses

San Diego Giraffe Has New Life After Getting Leg Breaces

SAN DIEGO – A baby giraffe is getting a little extra pep in her step thanks tᴏ dᴏctᴏrs at the San Diegᴏ Zᴏᴏ.

Three-mᴏnth-ᴏld Msitᴜni – which means “in the fᴏrest” in Swahili – is nᴏw skipping arᴏᴜnd with a new lease with the help ᴏf a cᴜstᴏm leg brace tᴏ cᴏrrect abnᴏrmalities that threatened her sᴜrvival.

The specialized giraffe-patterned ᴏrthᴏtic braces attach tᴏ her frᴏnt legs tᴏ help cᴏrrect a hyperextensiᴏn ᴏf the carpi, bᴏnes that are eqᴜivalent tᴏ thᴏse in the hᴜman wrist.

This disᴏrder had caᴜsed the giraffe’s frᴏnt legs tᴏ bend imprᴏperly and made it difficᴜlt fᴏr her tᴏ stand and walk.

“We are sᴏ glad tᴏ have the resᴏᴜrces and expertise tᴏ step in and prᴏvide this yᴏᴜng calf the ᴏppᴏrtᴜnity fᴏr a fᴜll life,” said Dr. Matt Kinney, seniᴏr veterinarian at the San Diegᴏ Zᴏᴏ Safari Park. “Withᴏᴜt these lifesaving braces tᴏ prᴏvide sᴜppᴏrt, the pᴏsitiᴏn ᴏf her legs wᴏᴜld have becᴏme increasingly mᴏre painfᴜl and prᴏgressed tᴏ a pᴏint she wᴏᴜld nᴏt have been able tᴏ ᴏvercᴏme.”

Three-mᴏnth-ᴏld Msitᴜni is nᴏw skipping arᴏᴜnd with a new lease with the help ᴏf a cᴜstᴏm leg brace.

The braces were crafted by Hanger Clinic, a lᴏcal clinic that typically makes prᴏsthetics fᴏr hᴜmans. They were able tᴏ fabricate the cᴜstᴏm-mᴏlded carbᴏn graphite ᴏrthᴏtic braces by ᴜsing cast mᴏldings ᴏf the calf’s legs and fit Msitᴜni with her new devices, cᴏmplete with a giraffe pattern tᴏ prᴏvide a natᴜral lᴏᴏk.

“I feel a tremendᴏᴜs sense ᴏf accᴏmplishment,” said Ara Mirzaian, certified ᴏrthᴏtist at Hanger Clinic. “I’ve never wᴏrked with wildlife befᴏre – it’s ᴏne ᴏf thᴏse things that is a ᴏnce-in-a-lifetime ᴏppᴏrtᴜnity, and yᴏᴜ jᴜst have tᴏ savᴏr the mᴏment.”

The zᴏᴏ said the braces were a sᴜccess, and Msitᴜni is nᴏw with the rest ᴏf her herd in the Safari Park’s 60-acre East Africa savanna habitat.

This disᴏrder had caᴜsed the giraffe’s frᴏnt legs tᴏ bend imprᴏperly.

The specialized giraffe-patterned ᴏrthᴏtic braces attach tᴏ her frᴏnt legs tᴏ help cᴏrrect a hyperextensiᴏn ᴏf the carpi.

“This was an impᴏrtant step in Msitᴜni’s natᴜral develᴏpment,” said Kristi Bᴜrtis, directᴏr ᴏf wildlife care at the San Diegᴏ Zᴏᴏ Safari Park. “As her bᴏnd grᴏws with the herd, she will be able tᴏ learn behaviᴏrs and skills impᴏrtant tᴏ the develᴏpment ᴏf a yᴏᴜng giraffe.”

Science teams have estimated that fewer than 100,000 giraffes are left in their native habitats – a decrease ᴏf mᴏre than 40 percent ᴏver the last 20 years.

It is believed that the dᴏwnward trend is dᴜe tᴏ habitat lᴏss, habitat fragmentatiᴏn and pᴏaching in certain regiᴏns.

Meet Madame Eyebrows, the world’s saddest looking dog to whom nothing seems to entertain

In Germany, there is a dog named Madame Eyebrows. It seems that this is somehow a strange name but wait. The eyebrows of the bulldog make him look like the safest dog that you have ever seen in your life.

However, her owners assure, that her facial expression doesn’t correspond to her character at all. Madame Eyebrows used to be a very happy and playful dog. She has an Instagram account with many fan followers. Her name mainly comes from the comments of her followers who called the dog like this.

When her photos appeared on social media her owners named her Tea. At that time she was 4 years old. But the couple accepted that their dog nickname is better and they gave up. Janina, her owner knew from the very beginning that their dog would be different as the fur around her eyes darkened.

180-Pound Dog Waits Every Day To Give Favorite Mailwoman A Hug

A Bull Mastiff named Fronky has the same ritual every day. Every morning, the dog waits by the door and asks his mom to let him outside. Then, once he’s in the front yard he sits and waits.Fronky continues waiting until his best friend appears: a mailwoman named Shaun!Fronky and Shaun have been best friends since he was a seven-week-old puppy. The two absolutely love each other, and seeing Shuan is always a highlight of Fronky’s day.Fronky’s mom, Eileen, told The Dodo, “When she is at her truck, getting all her packages and getting ready to come to our house you see his tail going so fast, and if she takes too long, he gets impatient.”

Fronky has grown into a 180-pound dog who could very easily hop the front yard fence if he wanted to. But Fronky is a good boy, and he always stays on his side of the fence. Luckily, he can still get plenty of pets and cuddles from Shaun! Eileen explained that Shaun had a chocolate lab that passed away. She thinks Fronky gives her those puppy cuddles she’s missing. “I think just having this little break with Fronky helps her out and gives her something to look forward to as well,” Eileen said.

Shaun and Fronky are truly best friends. Sometimes, Shaun will even come and visit Fronky on her days off. “Shaun sort of has become part of our family,” Eileen said. “She always misses coming by and we can’t wait to see her every day… And Fronky, as soon as he hears her voice is just out of control.”

According to Hill’s Pets, Fronky’s love of Shaun is a bit out of the norm for his breed. The website says: “Bullmastiffs are gentle and affectionate with family members. Their generally calm, easy-going natures make them good dogs for families with reasonably well-behaved children. However, the bullmastiff’s laid-back attitude with family members is likely to change when a stranger enters the picture. These dogs tend to be quite suspicious of people outside the family.”

It seems like the most logical explanation is that Fronky views Shaun as a member of his family. How sweet!

“I like that it’s a mutual love,” Eileen said about Fronky and Shaun. “So they both look forward to it so much.”

Fronky is an adorable big dog who has a wonderful best friend. It’s so sweet to watch the pair together. If you’d like to see more photos and videos of Fronky, check out his Instagram page.

Family cat makes weird noises over baby monitor. Mom checks baby’s room and rushes for phone

Bernita and Roy Rogers, a married couple , have always dreamed to have babies of their own. However, their dreams of being parents broke everytime after Bernita gave birth prematurely on three separate occasions. Unfortunately, the couple lost all of their babies, their hearts couldn’t be more heartbroken. Defeated by three losses, the devastated couple decided to give up hope, but everything changed when an adorable stray kitten walked into their lives, and they gave her all their love and care.

The adorable kitten was black as night, and although coming across a black cat is a sign of bad luck, Roy and Bernita soon discovered that “Midnight” actually brought good luck. After a year of letting him into their house, the couple once again found themselves expecting a child. This time around, Bernita delivered a healthy baby girl who named her Stacey. Roy and Bernita were very protective of their daughter due to their heartbreaking past, and always kept a baby monitor close by. Even Midnight wouldn’t leave her side and keep her watching over her like a body guard.

When Stacey was six weeks old, her mom, Bernita, put her down for a nap and sat down in the living room for a chit chat with her parents. Suddenly, Midnight came running, and kept jumping on and off Bernita’s lap. Bernita wasn’t so interested and ignored the cat, and it wasn’t until she heard an awful hissing and moaning sound coming from the baby monitor that Bernita finally jumped into action to see what was going on in Stacey’s room. Her heart stopped cold when she saw what the cat had really been up to. Watch the video below to find out just how far a determined cat will go to get his way.

Read these characteristics which almost all cat lovers have in common:

INTROVERTED AND SENSITIVE
It’s the nature of cats that they are not friends with everybody, and the same trait can be seen in their owners too. Usually, they live alone and are happy with their independent lifestyle. They are introverts but are comfortable hanging around with other people. However, they would need some me-time to relax and recharge.

CAT LOVERS LEAN TO LEFT
It has been observed that people with liberal political leanings prefer cats over dogs. You might be a liberal dog lover or a conservative cat owner; if you’re a liberal, you love cats and vice versa.

CAT OWNERS ARE OPEN-MINDED
Five traits – conscientiousness, neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and openness are often seen in most cat lovers. As compared to dog owners, people who have cats as pets are more open and therefore, have greater artistic creativity.

ATTENTION SEEKERS
Just like their pets, cat lovers seek attention from people around them. They like to be the centre of all conversations. At times, cat owners rely on their pets for emotional support.

THEY RESPECT CATS MORE THAN ANYONE
Cat people respect cats more than humans, in general. The saddest sight for a cat lover is to see the animal on the streets without a home. Cat lovers are often seen making a special effort to rescue or rehabilitate homeless cats.

Rescue Dog Climbs The Refrigerator and Cupboards, Thinks He is One Of The Cats

When Bethany Castiller and her family decided to get a dog, they knew their new canine family member would be their salvation. They have promised to adopt a dog in need of a home because they believe in the principle of “adopt, not buy.” However, the family had a nuance. His new family member had to be able to get along with his cats, Pecan and Gizmo. When he visited the shelter to find the dog, a guy named Mako immediately made it clear that he was going home to the Castiller family. In fact, Bethany says family members joke that Mako was not chosen: “He chose us.”

She explains that when they got to the shelter, Mako had his back against the cage, and when they reached in and started petting him, he did something irresistible. The adorable dog looked over his shoulder and gave them direct eye contact and they immediately fell in love with him. The shelter assured the family that Mako likes dogs just fine and it wasn’t long before they realized that it’s probably because Mako actually seems to think he is a cat. They can’t know that for certain, but most people who know Mako believe that he was probably raised around cats because all of his favorite activities are things that cats do.

First off, Mako doesn’t bark. Plus he loves cat treats (although, to be honest, all dogs!). One weird thing that Mako does, however, climbs cabinets and countertops, as cats are known to do. This seems to be her favorite pastime and it’s a lot of fun to see this big dog on countertops and cabinets. When the family first saw Mako at the top of tables and counters, they thought he was a little weird, but soon realized it was Mako and now treat him like one of the cats.

Mako even loves cat toys. They bought him a large dog toy that looks like a cat toy, and when they go to the backyard to throw it for him, Mako runs and jumps after him and the cats chase his toys

He also loves to lay on the tables with the cats and look out at the birds.

And when one of the cats stretches out on its back for a belly rub, guess what? Yep, Mako does it too!Instagram

And Mako loves his family as much as they love him. According to Bethany, he spends all the time with his cat brothers and is one of the gang members. We love this guy! Be sure to follow Mako on Instagram. Check out this fun video of Mako below.

Mother Cat Snatches Crying Kitten From Toddler

The web is again surrounded by an older video in which a father filmed his little daughter while she was petting a kitten.

A dose of drama was provided this time by the mother cat, who was clearly not happy that the other creature was petting her puppy.

The little kitten was crying inconsolably in the baby’s arms, which is why her mother cat immediately came to her aid. She “stole” her puppy from the little girl’s arms and carried it to safety, thus providing a dose of drama.

The girl who had previously petting the kitten began to cry inconsolably. The video is already a real hit online – it has garnered more than 2 million views on the YouTube network alone.

Take a look at a cute scene in which a mother cat stole her puppy while being nurtured in by a cute little girl. Will the adorable video impress you too?

Man Thought He Found A Lamb On The Road Turns Out To Be A Rare Albino Baby Deer

According to Dodo, at first glance the man thought he was looking at a lamb. But as he approached, he realized that the animal was actually a fake covered in pure white fur. The antelope turns out to be an albino, giving him his snow-white features.

While most shades will gradually begin to lose their distinctive white markings as they age, this particular deer will almost always remain white due to albinism.

Surprisingly too, this fawn existed without its mother. The lifespan of a deer is only three weeks, which makes it very vulnerable.

Fortunately, a team of wildlife rehabilitation specialists stepped in to help the phenomenon. Looking at the Spirit name, the antelope is definitely in good hands. As head of the animal shelter, Diane Nicholas said the aim was to nurture the soul so it can survive on its own.

It will take about six months before Spirit is ready to return to the wild. Part of the training process will be teaching the Spirit how to find food in the wild and socialize with other deer. Spirit is lucky to have been found and can now learn to live in its natural environment.

Kind duck retrieves boy’s flip-flop after it fell down a hill and returns it to him

Myla Aguila, a woman from the Philippines, had stumbled upon a truly amazing sight as she was heading home some time ago.

She and her friends noticed a young boy sitting on the edge of a small off-the-road hill trying to figure out how to reach his flip-flop. But then, all of a sudden, he got some unexpected help. A kind duck was willing to get the flip-flop for him, and it was an incredible thing to witness.
The bird first struggled keeping the flip-flop in the mouth as it kept falling, but she somehow managed to get to where the boy was waiting.

Luckily, Myla took a video and shared it on Facebook so that we can all see it.

Who knew ducks can be so helpful and nice?

“I was dumbfounded,” Myla wrote. “The duck is kind. She really helped, even though she doesn’t know the child.”

This made Myla think of the capability of these birds to be compassionate.

“There is a feeling like a person,” she wrote, adding: “I will feel mercy on them because of what I saw.”

This video is just another proof that all animals have feelings, just like humans.

He attempts to put leash on cockatoon so the bird proceeds to throw a profane temper tantrum

A cockatoo named Eric let his owners know his feeling about wearing his leash and his harness. He is clearly showing his mad attituden but we can’t help but laugh at his behavior

Eric has starred in several videos. This one starts out with Eric’s owner, Lester, telling his cockatoo to get his harness. In the video, you’ll then hear Lester’s wife asking the cockatoo if he has his harness. The harness is attached to a leash and draped over the back of a chair when Eric starts to pick it up with his beak.

When the bird’s owner asks him if he is ready to take a walk, he flings the harness and the leash over the chair and it falls to the floor. Lester picks it up and proceeds to try to put the harness over Eric’s head. The feisty bird won’t have it, however, and he hops away. Then he hops back over to Lester, and his owner tries to put the harness on him again. With that, Eric nips his master’s hand, calls him a f**kin f**khead and hops away.

Eric has made a name for himself. On the internet, he’s known as Eric the Legend. He’s a foul-mouthed bird that speaks his mind and makes a lot of people laugh.

Let others chuckle by telling them to watch Eric in the video. This cockatoo may be a bad boy at times, but he is incredibly smart and so adorable.

Extremely white peacock looks ordinary until he spreads his tail feathers

Peacocks are one of the most beautiful birds on planet, with their mesmerizing colorful feathers. Vivid blue, black and white, accompanied by jade green and gold with a magnificent fan for a tail might describe the typical peacock. But this peacock is totally different due to the absence of color versus an overabundance of color.

It’s not common to see a white peacock, bu this bird is a true head-turner. Instead of the pink eyes expected, he peers at you with the dark glistening eyes you would find in any normal peacock.

Two cops on patrol come across tiny owl in the middle of road – and their conversation is adorable

One summer day, two police deputies from the Boulder Police Department were driving near a campground when they saw a little animal standing in the middle of the road.

When the deputies got closer, they realized the animal was a baby Northern Saw-Whet Owl.

The owl was clearly a bit lost, and the deputies wanted to make sure she safely got off the road. And so, one of the deputies approached owl. As the deputy reached the owl, she started talking to her.

“Hey,” the deputy said. “What’s up?”

The little owl was surprised to hear a human talking to her, and she started twisting her head around in the cutest ways. The deputy couldn’t help but laugh when she saw that. She said ‘hi’ again, and the owl’s eyes widened. She was clearly having a great time talking with the deputy!

The deputy stopped filming after this, and she and her partner convinced the owl to get out of the road. The owl flew away to safety.

The post quickly viral, receiving more than 10,000 shares. The video of the deputy also went viral, and it has now been viewed more than seven million times. Clearly, everyone finds this story to be a hoot!

This hilarious video is sure to put a smile on your face—we’re amazed by the owl’s human-like expressions! If you’re in need of a good laugh today, check out the video of the owl and human conversation below.

Mom tells cockatoo he can’t go outside, so he throws the funniest temper tantrum

We love pets because they keep us company and they do entertain us. But even if they are good animals, they can’t stop being mischievous on some things. Surely many videos have been shot of these pets doing something silly, but not like this parrot in the video below. In the clip, we see a parrot who is surely vexed up, and wants his owners to get it right that he is not in the moods.

During the afternoons, this parrot by the name of Eric is used to go for a walk just to relax himself. As you can’t predict the weather changes and have to stay indoors, the same happened to Eric. He had been waiting for the afternoon to have the walk but unfortunately it started to rain, meaning no walk for him. He got so angry and decided to put the blame on his owners. To demonstrate that he is vexed, he got on the shelf and opened the money tin and started removing the coins and throwing them down, one by one.

Upon realizing, the owners pleaded him to stop but he never did so. They went ahead to threaten him of the scary fish and that they would put it on the shelf. On hearing that, Eric stopped for a while and continued. They had to pick the lid and close it for the silly bird to stop.
