Meet Riff Rat and Osiris, a dynamic duo who are totally inseparable despite their huge size difference.

Osiris is a Dutch Shepherd, whereas Riff Rat is, as his name suggests, a rat. Riff Rat was rescued from the brink of death when he was only a 4-week old baby.

Osiris, who was a rescue himself after being abandoned in a parking lot, helped Riff Rat to recover back to health.

Initially, Osiris was only supposed to be staying with the family on a temporary basis, but they instantly fell for him and decided to keep him forever.

So it makes sense that Osiris would be so welcoming to a fellow rescue, no matter the size or species.

The pair are partners in crime and can’t stand a moment apart from each other, the trust they have between them is amazing.

Initially, there were fears that the pair wouldn’t get on, however, it wasn’t long before these fears were irrelevant.

They hit it off right away, and now they are now inseparable. In fact, they’re so close that Osiris often lets Riff Rat climb into his mouth to clean his teeth.

“Riff Ratt really likes licking the inside of Osiris’ mouth. I’m sure you all are wondering if we’re afraid Osiris will eat Riff – NOPE! Osiris has helped foster and care for dozens of animals and he is the gentlest dog I’ve ever met,” their human said on Instagram.

“Seeing them care for each other and have such an unexpected friendship gives me a tiny bit of hope for the rest of the creatures on this planet — especially humans :),”
