This Giraffe That Was Rescued As A Baby From Hunters Now Lives His Life Like A King

The Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate in Tanzania is home to one happy little boy. Well actually, one happy big boy. A very big boy. His name is Monduli and he was rescued by the anti-poaching unit of the Wildlife Department of the Tanzanian Government as a baby. He is now 3 and a half years old and a regular sight at the animal sanctuary. Monduli is the only 4 legged guest who frequents the swimming pool but the other guests don’t mind. In fact they love the sight of a 13 foot tall giraffe playing in the water.

Monduli is a 3 and a half-year old boy full of personality.

He was rescued as a baby from poachers by the Wildlife Department of the Tanzanian Government.

At 3 1/2 years old, Monduli stands at 13 feet tall. When he is 6 he will be about 18 feet tall!

Monduli was bottle fed for over a year as a baby. He’s grown up at the estate and takes advantage of his surroundings.

There are also lots of zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles at the estate but Monduli is the only giraffe. He was lonely at first but seems to love his role as one of the estate’s guests.

Monduli loves to join in football games at the polo club. He loves joining in the club activities even if he is not wanted. He is not the most easily persuaded due to his size. He pretty much does what he wants.

Monduli also acts as the groundskeeper. He keeps his big belly full doing so. The estate is full of delicious plants that a giraffe absolutely loves.

One problem with Monduli is the fact that he is a young boy with a lot of testosterone. He is often excited when the cars come into the estate and sometimes tries to mount them.

The estate is located near the town of Usa River, about 30 minutes from the Kilimanjaro International Airport.

The estate offers amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.

Monduli thinks of himself as a guest at the estate who is entitled to the spoils of his sanctuary. He does what he wants when he wants and everybody loves him enough to let him.

H/T

Monduli is the king of his domain and quite happy with all the love and attention he receives on a daily basis. He would have had a completely different fate had it not been for the Wildlife Department of the Tanzania Government. They gave him a life most animals only dream of.
