Shelter Kitten Finds Family and Survives Surgery with 8 Lives to Spare

Greater Rochester is home to an exceptional animal shelter by the name of Lollypop Farm.

Lollypop Farm Humane Society does incredible work – saving the lives of countless helpless animals and finding them wonderful new homes.

On the 12th of December, just last year, they were pleased to announce a recent adoption of a very special kitty on their Facebook page.

Rudolph was a cat with a life-threatening condition; a diaphragmatic hernia pushing into his chest cavity.

His new family hoped to get him the type of medical attention he needed to keep his 8 remaining lives.

On the 23rd of January, Lollypop Farm released a new announcement; the successful completion of a tricky surgery undergone by Rudolph to cure his condition.

Last week Rudolph underwent surgery at Cornell to repair his hernia.
It was a difficult procedure – his entire liver had protruded into his pericardial sac. But little Rudolph is a fighter!
He pulled through and was breathing on his own shortly after surgery.
He is home now with a family that went above and beyond to give this tiny kitten the very best life.

Rudolph is doing well and we wish him a speedy recovery!
