Actress Regina King said in a brief interview on Saturday she would be “honored” to play Michelle Obama in a movie if given the opportunity. Regina Rene King is an American actress and television director. She is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and three Primetime Emmy Awards.

Time magazine named King one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019. If given the opportunity the 47-year-old has revealed she would jump at the chance to portray the former First Lady of the United States on-screen – but advised everyone against jumping too soon. In 2015 and 2016, the Seven Seconds star won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.

But in spite of her impressive CV, the Cinderella Story star added a little joke to point out that it might be too ‘soon’ for talks of a movie about the wife of Barack Obama as the 54-year-old is still promoting her new memoir Becoming.‘It would be an honor to play Michelle Obama. Of course,’ the If Beale St Could Talk actress told TMZ. But we can’t help but admit that we can completely see Regina taking on the role especially as they are both similar ages.

The only problem is that Michelle is 5‘11” inches and Regina stands at 5’3”.In Michelle’s best-selling memoir, she details a miscarriage and marriage counseling – and also how she can ‘never forgive’ current President Donald Trump for questioning her husband’s American citizenship. The former lawyer sold two million copies within weeks of its publication.

Michelle also focused on the difficulties she faced in her childhood growing up with working-class parents, as a woman trying to get into Ivy League universities, and her struggles as a young mother to balance her personal priorities with raising her children. Publisher Penguin Random House claimed its success has made it the biggest selling book of 2018 in the US and Canada.
