Sadly Bruce Willis’ family shared this last message

Frontotemporal dementia, or FTD for short, is a type of dementia that Bruce Willis’ family has revealed the star has.

The 67-year-old star’s family said in a statement released on Thursday that while the news “is

heartbreaking, it is a comfort to finally have a definite diagnosis.”

There are now no cures for the illness, but we hope that will change in the years to come.

We hope that any media coverage may be directed toward bringing awareness to this disease,

which requires much more education and study as Bruce’s health worsens, the statement stated.

In 2022, Willis’ family—which includes his wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughters—first made his aphasia diagnosis public.

At the time, it was announced that Willis would be taking a vacation from acting because of a medical ailment that was impairing his cognitive function.

According to a recent statement from his family, Bruce “always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important topics both publicly and privately.”

“We know in our hearts that if he could today, he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a sense of connection with those who are also coping with this crippling condition and how it impacts so many people and their families,” said the statement.

The frontal and temporal lobes of the brain are the primary areas affected by frontotemporal dementia, according to the Mayo Clinic. These brain regions are frequently linked to personality, conduct, and language.

The third film in the thriller series “Detective Knight” and Willis’ most recent acting project is “Detective Knight: Independence,” which was released in January 2023. Additionally, the action film “Assassin” is due out next month.

Heming and Willis The daughters of Willis are Mabel and Evelyn. He shares fatherhood with Moore for the daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

Rumer Willis and her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas are expecting their first child.

Bruce has always been happy and has encouraged everyone he knows to be as well.

To witness that sense of concern returned to him and to all of us has meant the world, the statement continued.

“The love you have all shown for our loving husband, father, and friend during this trying time has touched us deeply. We’ll be able to assist Bruce in leading the most fulfilling life possible with your continuing compassion, understanding, and respect.
