Police Officer Saves Meowing Kitten on Highway and Everyone Wants to Adopt the Kitty

A police officer in Texas stopped in the middle of a busy highway overpass to rescue a tiny kitten which was stuck between drain openings.
Officer Alberto Galvan heard the kitten crying for help above him on a highway overpass in Pasadena, Texas. He drove his cruiser up to investigate.

Pasadena Police Department shares the story:

“Officer Galvan was at the Exxon at Red Bluff and Beltway when he heard what sounded like a kitten crying. The crying sounded like it was coming from the Beltway. After shining his light up on the overpass, he could see the kitten’s eyes reflecting back. The kitty was stuck on the Beltway 8 overpass over Red Bluff and could not get down.”

The angle was too steep for Officer Galvan to walk up to the kitty, so he had to drive to 225 and U-turn back onto Beltway 8 and back to the Red Bluff overpass.

After searching for a bit, he located the kitten wedged in between the drain openings at the bottom of the barriers.

He could see the back of the kitten sticking out on the other side of the barrier and reached over in attempts to grab it. Apparently this kitten was NOT in the mood to be rescued and began scratching and biting Officer Galvan.

As a result, Officer Galvan lost his grip and the kitty fell back onto the Beltway and ran back under the barrier. Determined to rescue the kitten, Officer Galvan regrouped, licked his wounds, grabbed his gloves and lock out device and made a second successful attempt.”

“After calming the cat down, and making sure it received plenty of water, Officer Galvan took the kitten to the caring arms of the Pasadena Animal Shelter.”

Pasadena Police Department said in an interview that Kitty Galvan was adopted immediately.

“Assistant Chief Bruegger attempted to adopt him but he was SECOND on the list.”

Read these characteristics which almost all cat lovers have in common:

INTROVERTED AND SENSITIVE
It’s the nature of cats that they are not friends with everybody, and the same trait can be seen in their owners too. Usually, they live alone and are happy with their independent lifestyle. They are introverts but are comfortable hanging around with other people. However, they would need some me-time to relax and recharge.

CAT LOVERS LEAN TO LEFT
It has been observed that people with liberal political leanings prefer cats over dogs. You might be a liberal dog lover or a conservative cat owner; if you’re a liberal, you love cats and vice versa.

CAT OWNERS ARE OPEN-MINDED
Five traits – conscientiousness, neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and openness are often seen in most cat lovers. As compared to dog owners, people who have cats as pets are more open and therefore, have greater artistic creativity.

ATTENTION SEEKERS
Just like their pets, cat lovers seek attention from people around them. They like to be the centre of all conversations. At times, cat owners rely on their pets for emotional support.

THEY RESPECT CATS MORE THAN ANYONE
Cat people respect cats more than humans, in general. The saddest sight for a cat lover is to see the animal on the streets without a home. Cat lovers are often seen making a special effort to rescue or rehabilitate homeless cats.
