Cat Saved Just Hours Before Death Row Won’t Stop Thanking His Rescuer

Life at animal shelters is not fun and games and sometimes if an animal spends too much time without being adopted, he might be put down. Henry the cat was just hours away from death row, until an amazing foster carer from Cat Rescue Newcastle named Adelle rescued him!

“He had a matter of hours before his time was up but we swooped in and did what we do best: saved a life” said the organization. The cutie was so excited and grateful, that he wouldn’t stop cuddling and kissing Adelle, who was also able to find Henry a permanent home, where he currently lives happily!

‘World’s Loneliest’ Shelter Dog Has New Life As A Movie Star

Freya the dog has a pretty sad background story: she used to be a shelter dog, rescued by Freshfields Animal Rescue in England when she was just a puppy and spent 6 years there, watching every other dog in the shelter get adopted but no one took this cutie home, which gave her the title of ‘world’s loneliest dog’.

However, some articles surfaced on Freya and one of them found its way to film director Michael Bay, who decided to bring life and company to Freya by including her in one of his films and in a recent clip released by Paramount Pictures, he claims that “Freya’s doing an amazing job acting.”

Most importantly, and thanks to the exposure the movie gave her, she finally found a loving forever family who loves and appreciates her so we can say Freya is no longer the world’s loneliest dog!

Cat Guides Lost Hiker Down A Mountain In Switzerland

Can you imagine being in the mountains of Switzerland and getting lost? Sure, you could use GPS but those are tricky sometimes and a furry friend who guides you could be the perfect answer. This is exactly what happened to Reddit user sc4s2cg, a man who, while hiking in the Swiss mountains, got lost until the kitten came to the rescue!

“I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed,” he shared. That’s when the cat appeared and guided him down the mountain, even checking back every now and then to make sure the hiker was right behind him.

It also looks like the Swiss feline is a bit experienced in guiding tourists down that very mountain because since sc4s2cg shared his story, other users claimed they met the cat too!

Woman Builds A Stairlift For Her Three Elderly Rescued Pugs, And It’s Adorable

Dogs give us the gift of company and joy for their whole lives, so the least we can do is to provide them with a little comfort in their golden years, when they are already older.

Sonya Karimi, 31, who lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, owns three elderly dogs, after she recently adopted Bodhi, who also suffers from a ligament problem in her knee. She decided to build a stairlift for them in her home so they won’t be forced to climb stairs.

Using outstanding construction skills, Karimi used wood and metal parts. Thus, she fixed a base on the steps, which go from the top floor to the bottom. This way, with a box she built, the hairy ones can be mounted and slide from one floor to the other.

As can be seen in the next video, the family helps the four-legged friends in this task of moving from one floor to another. They climb up and slowly descend until they reach the floor. Thanks to this elevator, their knees won’t suffer any more.

Sonya, who is an occupational therapist, has dedicated herself to taking care of her dogs just as she does her patients. They are grateful to have so much help in these years where everything is complicated. But of course she will never leave them alone.

They Spot A Baby Turtle Crying For Help. Seconds Later, My Heart Was Racing!

The people in the video below were on their way back from a dive on a beautiful summer day somewhere in the Maldives Islands when they spotted a baby turtle on the surface of the water. At first, they were all very excited to jump in and swim with it, but when they got closer, they noticed the turtle was in a dangerous situation. The reptile was entangled in some plastic rubbish and was struggling to move. Luckily things ended well for this turtle, but so many other creatures are living in the ocean among seas of debris. And it’s our fault.

Orangutan wants to see the human baby and it’s adorable

It’s no secret to any dog-lover or cat-lover that humans have a special connection with animals. But this connection is not only restricted to domesticated animals!

This is obvious in the video below. In it, a female orangutan shares interest to a human baby and it’s absolutely adorable. The orangutan looks at the tiny human on the other side of the glass with both curiosity and kindness. She points at the baby to communicate with the human mother, and crouches down by the window to get a better look. This comes to prove just how personable these animals really are.

Watch This Loving Parrot Ask Another Parrot For A Kiss, And Then Plant One On Her

Parrots’ ability to mimic human behavior never ceases to amaze me! In this amazing video, JoJo the Indian Ringneck and Buddy the Quaker.

Parrot show how one talking parrot can flirt with another. “Hey, whatcha doing? Give me a kiss?” says the parrot before kissing his female friend. If I had to guess, I’ll say she like him back. This Woman With Asperger’s Tries To Hurt Herself, But Her Loyal Dog Soothes and Protects Her

In an emotional video, a woman living with Asperger syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder) shows how her dog helped her through an emotional breakdown. The woman was crying in the bathroom, hurting herself, but she was not alone. Her service dog was on high alert. He was trained to deal with this kind of situations. ‘I trained him to alert to depressive episodes and self-harm not both but he alerted. It appears the response is late but it’s actually supposed to be as I’m coming out of the meltdown as I tend to have a panic attack after,’ wrote the woman in the video’s description.

Chito and and his pet Crocodile Pocho

Crocodiles are capable of killing a man with just one blow, but Chito calls a crocodile his friend. Yes, I know, he must be crazy but the man plays, swims and feeds the giant crocodile, Pocho. Also known as the “Crocodile Man”, the man found Pocho 20 years ago. The croc was shot by a cattle farmer in Costa Rica and it was dying. So Chito called up some of his friends and took the croc home to help him recover. He even slept next to it so that the reptile wouldn’t feel alone and it was just a matter of time before the two became best friends

He Hears the Water Turn on and Knows It’s Bath Time. I’ve Never Seen A Pet So Excited!

Birds are less common pets mainly because they are very hard to tame. This is why the video below is so amazing. In it, a guy fills his hands with water to create a bathtub for his little bird pet. It’s not exactly known why birds take baths but apparently it has something to do with feather maintenance. However, the fact that this bird bath in his owner’s hands is a peculiar display of trust. I’m not a bird expert, so to me this is just an adorable bird relaxing in the hands of his kind master. And somehow it’s enough.

This adorable fluffy insect looks like a walking piece of popcorn

Each and every being on Earth is beautiful and unique in its own way, but when you’re talking about odd, fascinating things, insects has to be on top of that list. It’s not even surprising if you think they represent nearly 80% of the world living species. That’s about 900,000 types of insects. And from all of them, there is one that doesn’t look like a bug at all, but rather like a piece of popcorn.

The odd looking creature, known as the Flatid Planthopper Nymph, lives in Ecuador’s Amazonian forests and it is part of the planthopper family. Footage of it went viral when a nature photographer caught the tiny cotton ball during an expedition in the Amazonian forest. The tiny fluffy creature, reassembles a piece of popcorn or a snowflake when moving, and that’s because it’s body is covered by some wax filaments meant to protect it.

A video of the tiny moving cloud was shared online by late biologist and photographer Andreas Kay. Fascinated by the vast variety of insects that live on Earth, Kay spent nearly a decade through the forests of Ecuador documenting about the world’s tiniest creatures.

“This tiny Flatid Planthopper Nymph from the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador is covered with waxy filaments for protection,” he captioned the video. Take a look:

Rescued piglets try to nurse from a four-month-old kitten in sweet footage

While we have witnessed shelter animals comforting each other, for so many times, it is always so heartwarming to see rescued four-legged beings bonding in times of need. This time some rescued piglets and a kitten befriended after they have met at a rescue center in Georgia.

After she rescued a little of piglets, Adrienne Jacobs who runs the Wild Things Sanctuary in Union Point, was worried to find them a foster mom as they looked too young to feed themselves. But to Adrienne’s surprise, the tiny piglets looked they are actually able to hold their own, despite so young.

Even though they have just arrived at the shelter, the cute piglets have already found a very reliable friend in Mac, a four-month-old rescue kitten. Apparently, the piglets and the kitten have found comfort in each other and they were inseparable, especially when they were taking naps.

One day the 32-year-old woman was keeping an eye on Mac and his tiny friends, when noticed the piglets were all trying to nurse from the kitten and surprisingly, Mac let them do it. Adrienne managed to caught the heartwarming scene on camera and the result is nothing short of adorable. Take a look:

“Mac loves them, he begs them to cuddle up with him,” Adrienne said. “These are his best friends…and for anyone wondering if the cat enjoys it – can you hear him purring?”

Although the three piglets grew up, they still spent time alongside their furry friend and they adore taking naps together. “People keep asking, what’s going to happen to this cuddle pile once the piglets turn into big pigs – and this is your answer,” the woman said. “Nothing changes!”

Adorable video shows bald eagle, wild fox and cats hanging out on a porch in Alaska

When comes to very odd friendships, the animal kingdom never cease to amaze us. Apparently, nothing seems too much in the wildlife world. So, despite the heartwarming footage below, seem too surprising to believe, this Alaskan woman stable upon the most incredible sight. A bald eagle, a fox and her two cats were ganging out on her back porch.

When you live in the city of Unalaska in Alaska, both eagles and foxes, are a very common sight, but when you spot them chilling on next to yours cats, in front of your door, that seems a little exaggerating. Nevertheless, that the kind of sight Pam Aus, came upon, and not just once. Although Pam’s cats – Gizmo and Suitcase – are extremely friendly, she never thought they will befriend wild foxes, let alone bald eagles.

It all started on a snowy afternoon, when Pam who inside her home, heard some noise coming from the back porch, so she went to investigate. Surprisingly, her two cats were there, but not alone. Turns out, they got some very unlikely visitors.

“I was in my room on the computer and I heard the eagle squawking,” Pam explained for The Huffington Post. “I looked out my windows and saw this. It’s kinda common for the foxes to be friendly — same with the eagles. But seeing all three there was exciting. They all just sat there.”

Since then, the odd friends kept visiting Pam’s cats, and the woman constantly uploads videos of their heartwarming bond on Youtube. In one of her videos, can be seen not one, but at least two eagles visiting her cats. But this comes pretty natural when you thinks the place is famous for its massive eagle population. Though in Unalaska live around 5,000 people, the small harbour is home for nearly 600 bald eagles.

“The eagle couple claimed a lamppost across the street from my house,” Pam said. “They will come over and sit on my porch. Or they’ll just sit there and watch my cats.”

Researchers Discovered Something Unsettling In Human Blood And Are Extremely Concerned

Something troubling was discovered in human blood, and scientists fear it could have a serious negative impact on our long-term health:-

Nearly 80% of the participants they examined had the particles they discovered in human blood for the first time.

The finding demonstrates that specks can move throughout the body and may settle in organs. Although the effects on our health have not yet been determined, scientists are worried since laboratory tests on human cells show that these particles cause damage. Additionally, it is already known that air pollution particles penetrate the body and result in millions of preventable deaths each year.

Large amounts of plastic garbage are released into the environment due to careless human behavior. From the top of Mount Everest to the bottom of the deepest waters, they discovered plastic garbage. We already know that microscopic plastic particles can be ingested through food and water and breathing them in, and they have been identified in both newborns’ and adults’ feces.

Researchers examined blood samples from 22 healthy adults and discovered plastic particles in the blood of 17 of them. PET plastic, frequently seen in drink bottles, was detected in 50% of the samples, while polystyrene, a material used in food and product packaging, was found in 35% of them. One-fourth of the blood samples contained polyethylene, the material used to make plastic carrier bags.

Ecotoxicologist Professor Dick Vethaak of the Dutch Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam noted that the study’s findings “are the first evidence that we have polymer particles in our blood.” But the research needs to be expanded; sample numbers increase, more polymers must be evaluated, etc. He stated they are in the process of further research on this subject.

According to Vethaak, “it is certainly legitimate to be concerned.” The particles are dispersed throughout the body and are there. He said that studies in the past had revealed that newborns’ feces included ten times more microplastics than adults’ and that infants fed from plastic bottles were ingesting millions of microplastic particles per day.

He added, “we are aware that young infants and babies are more susceptible to chemical and particle exposure.” “That bothers me.”

The professor claimed that although there was a range in the amount of plastic in the blood samples, “this is a pioneering study,” he added.

“What is going on inside our body is the major question,” said Vethaak. Are the particles still inside your body? Do they cross the blood-brain barrier to reach certain organs, such as the brain? Are these amounts high enough to cause sickness, too? We must immediately provide funding for additional studies to learn more.”

The cancer risk was evaluated in a recent review paper, which the professor also co-authored. The authors concluded: “More thorough research on how micro-and nano-plastics affect the structures and functions of the human body, and whether and how they can transform cells and induce carcinogenesis, is urgently needed, particularly in light of the exponential increase in plastic production. Every day, the issue becomes more urgent.”
