When a police officer in Australia pulled over a driver for speeding, the cop found out the driver had a pretty good excuse – he had just fought off a venomous snake and was racing to the hospital.

The man had to fight off the snake with his knife and seatbelt as the deadly snake tried to bite him and bind around his leg. Watch him describe the encounter in the video below.

The driver was shaken up, but luckily had not been bitten by the venomous snake, despite the snake’s attempts.
