By now you’re all too familiar that here at Cats on Catnip we love unique cats, especially unique eyes on cats. I mean, Pickley always inspires fans to share their cats’ stunning eyes, so we know that when it comes to cats, cat fanatics, and stunning eyes, we’re all on the same page.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that as soon as we saw “Odd Eyed Olive” we knew that she was the purr-fect fit for all of us fantastic eye-loving cat fanatics! I’m sure as soon as you peep these peepers you will enthusiastically agree.
Odd Eyed Olive
With the Instagram handle oddity_olive, Olive the Odd-Eyed cat has garnered almost 20k followers with her looks and playful purrsonality.
Olive ia an Oriental-crossbreed cat.
She has a rare genetic condition that typically effects white cats and caused her eyes to have their stunning, unique appearance. Her eye condition is called sectoral heterochromia iridis, appearing half-brown, half-blue in each eye.
It is believed the condition targets white cats because of their lower melanin levels.
Olive lives in the UK with her human, Kim.
Kim, a young woman in her 50’s, bought Olive as a kitten!
However, when Kim bought Olive, she had no clue what her eyes would eventually change to.
A lively kitte, indeed.
In an interview, Kim explained:
“I got the kittens on a pet-for-sale website. I was looking for another kitty to join the family to make it four. I wanted a lively kitten to fit in with my others.”
Surprise Eyes!
She continued:
“I didn’t choose her for her eyes. It was quite dark and when I picked her up and the lady lifted her into the light and said she may have odd looking eyes.”

“I didn’t know how her eyes would turn out,” says Kim, Olive’s human slave/companion.
Olive lives with 3 other kitty siblings. She has been on Instagram since June of 2017 and her birthday is in May.
